Disorienting!
I struggled with this book. At times I felt I was on a carnival ride The way the story played out was so unlikely, and then the switch from two characters you believe are total psychopaths, to characters who are more like your next door neighbor with seriously overactive imaginations was just too much for me. I wanted to get off the carnival ride, but felt obligated to wait until it came to a complete stop (The End). I enjoyed the first half of the book more than the latter half, hence my three star rating.

Not for me
I just couldn't get into this book, or at least the subject matter. Having said that, it is well written, interesting characters and has a quirky sense of humor. I think for the right group this book will be a great read.

Review of Serial Killer Games by Kate Posey
Kate Posey's novel is a romance novel cleverly disguised as a thriller. The mysterious office worker, Delores- Dolly-Dodi, and the handsome office temp, , exchange sly innuendo and repartee, suggesting that she knows he is a serial killer. This continues through the first half of the book until each reveals a secret that ha been hidden from the other. At that point, I thought, "What? Now what can possibly happen?" Lots as the story devolves into a typical romance storyline of "will they/won't they?" with the classic split and then happily ever after. I found the book entertaining though a bit banal and certainly predictable.

Not your grandmother's romance...
Serial Killer Games is fast paced while confusing, funny, dark, vain and possibly apocryphal. Recommended for those who enjoy romantic murder fantasies while dismembering dolls.

Serial Killers
Serial Killers was reminiscent of a boxing match where the two main characters, Jake and Dolores, are taking jabs at each other thru the first third of the book and trying to one up the other and then perform a dance for the supporting characters through the remainder of the story as their lives become entwined and separated until the very end. Ms. Posey does manage to keep the reader in suspense throughout despite the, at times, general confusion.

Uneven Debut Novel
This interesting book had lots of twists and surprises, but character development was uneven and sometimes woefully lacking. For example, the lawyer in the story was supposedly a legal maven, but he was a social zero with ventures into the negative number realm. The female lead was difficult to like or even understand, perhaps because her character was revealed in such a haphazard fashion. There were lots of bright and amusing moments in the story, and I believe the author's next effort will be better given the intermittent excellent stretches of the book.

Painful to read
I hate leaving negative reviews for books because I know the author puts so much into them. But I really did not like this book. I stayed through until the end, but it was honestly painful to read.
The twists were so abrupt I have whiplash, and the problems all seemed to dissolve tidily to make things nice and neat in the end.
I found the characters unlikable and over the top. I finished it so I could give a fair review, but it was hard.
