for Booklist should comment that
"many readers will finger the
culprit before Faye does"
because Scoppettone herself
doesn't know who "the perp" will
be when she starts each book.
As she explains in her lengthy
interview at BookBrowse "I
always have the victim and the
location [but] I never know who
did it. Sometimes along the way
I decide who it is, and
sometimes I'm wrong!"
