Horn Book Awards announced

The annual Horn Book Awards, sponsored by the Boston Globe, for the best in children's and young adult literature have been announced. The winners are:

  • Nonfiction: The Wall by Peter Sís Foster/Farrar)
  • Fiction & Poetry: The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian by Sherman Alexie, illustrated by Ellen Forney (Little)
  • Picture Book: At Night by Jonathan Bean (Farrar)
  • Special Citation: The Arrival by Shaun Tan (Levine/Scholastic)

The judges selected two honor books in each category including Shooting the Moon and Savvy.
