Kiran Deasi wins Mann Booker Prize

Kiran Desai has won this year’s Mann Booker Prize for her novel, The Inheritance of Loss. At 35 Desai is the youngest woman to ever win the award, which is the U.K.’s most prestigious literary honor. The daughter of three-time short listed nominee Anita Desai, she's also ending a drought for female victors, becoming the first woman to win the award since Margaret Atwood in 2000.
