Given the limitations imposed on discussing the plot, I can only say that this book is a classic example of lazy writing. It's as though the authors decided "Ok, we've got enough pages for an average paperback. It's time to end it.". Then they chose a "surprise" ending. One totally unsupported by their own plot development. You can take my word for it, contact me and ask what I'm talking about or you can totally waste your time and read the book.
