I usually admire and adore Sophie Hannah’s complicated plots and characters. Therefore, I am sad to be quite disappointed in THE DEAD LIE DOWN. The plot and characters seem to have gotten out of the author’s control, thereby seeming forced. However, the two main detectives are intriguing and worth following.
