There are many main characters in this book, but the main-est of the main is a girl called Jess, a shy, artsy gothic girl who is best friends with the beautifully-stunning popular girl called Eden.
The genre of this book is fiction and thriller. At the start of the book, a girl called Eden, Jess’ best friend, goes missing, and Jess has to trace back the steps of her and Eden’s summer to see if she can find any clues on her whereabouts. In my opinion, the BEST parts of this book are the flashbacks of Jess’ past that slowly reveal what happened to her, and who had hurt her.
This book is one of my favourite books because there is something about the words on each page, something about how the author had carefully ordered the storyline, that made me want to keep reading and never put the book down.
I DEFINITELY recommend this book to any, maybe teenager and above. The reason I say this is because it contains some strong language that someone who has a young and innocent mind would need to get their memories erased so they don’t remember the bad words in the book.
Anyway, I would recommend this to anybody because the actually storyline, the true meaning of the book, is all about the power of friendship, and how sometimes you need to accept that people and things change, and sometimes you don’t even realise at that moment that it’s actually for the best and that it’s a good thing. It also shows things like suicide are selfish, how it’s ok to be gay, and how you should never be pressured to do something that you don’t want to do. I just love how deep and meaningful this book is.
