The Last Word was an absolute thriller and like no other book I've ever read. I kept thinking, this is how it will end, no, this is how it's going to end and on and on! The author's description of the heroine's last minutes of life drowning (I thought!) were so incredibly clear; I could actually see her breaking the surface for a saving breath!
