Lots to talk about! (2/25/2025)
When I first picked up this book I wasn't sure it was the genre for me! Then I got to know the characters and I couldn't put it down. This is the kind of book I love to discuss in my book groups. There are so many themes, and a few surprises along the way! It is a very good read! Actually now that I'm through with the book I keep thinking about the characters. They were so well developed; I miss them!

Perfect Book Club Selection (5/31/2024)
There is so much going on in this book and so much to discuss with a group! The characters were so well developed, of course including the cats! The names were unfamiliar to me so it was sometimes hard to track. When I read the book with my group I will track them on paper!
Becoming Madam Secretary

My Favorite Genre, Historical Fiction (11/5/2023)
I had never heard of Frances Perkins; this book did exactly what I think Historical Fiction is supposed to do. It encouraged me to find out more about Frances. The book had all the elements I look forward to in a good read. It made me laugh, it made me cry and it caused me to read more about Frances! Thank you Stephanie Dray!
This Is Salvaged: Stories

Short Stories, not usually my favorites (8/9/2023)
I am not usually a fan of short stories. My experiences seem to be rather negative; too short, no plot development and, I didn't care about the characters...maybe because I didn't know them!

I had a totally different experience with "This is Salvaged"! First there was the common theme of "salvaged" in each of the stories. Then the characters, who were so well developed! Not sure how you do that in the pages allowed for each story...Vaugini Vara absolutely nailed it!

There is also something comforting to know you can read one story before you go to sleep. You don't have to wait for the action that leads you to the next chapter and, before you know it it's 2:00am!

Would I like to know what happens in each of these stories, for sure! However, i like that it left the untold story up to me. I am still thinking about some of the characters. I also like that there was suspense in the stories, that also got my imagination going!

I hope that Vauhini will develop some of these into novels, I would like to see where her imagination takes her and if some on the adventures we created match!

A Surprising Turn of Events! (9/27/2022)
I so enjoyed this book! The character development and the interaction between the characters was a joy to read! I started off thinking I know where this is going, however, it did not go that way at all! A very good read!
