The Story of the Lost Child: Neapolitan Novels, Book Four
by Elena Ferrante
I Really Wanted to Like This (12/6/2023)
I enjoyed the first and second book in this series, the third much less so and then came to the end of the series with great disappointment. It felt like the author got tired of this story and patched a bunch of stuff together in the 4th book, none of it really coming together. The ending was a huge let down. After the opening in the first novel I wanted to see what Lila's disappearance was all about or how it was resolved. It's the only reason I kept reading it. Then when I was done I wished I hadn't wasted my time.
