The Phone Booth at the Edge of the World: A Novel
by Laura Imai Messina
Beautiful sounds of wind (3/2/2024)
A wonderful story about grief and healing. Although an overall hopeful and optimistic story, the book still deals with heavy themes and is littered with small bits of sadness. Funnily enough I did not find myself getting emotional reading this book, and was curious why I wasn't considering I thought the book to have seriously sad scenarios. It's not until the last two pages, consisting of just eight short sentences, that all of my emotion flooded out of me. Beautiful and powerful.
