Hello Beautiful: A Novel
by Ann Napolitano
Family Drama (6/21/2024)
I love Ann’s writing & this is by far my favorite book of hers. I don’t think it’s quite the new or updated Little Women as it sold to me as. I think it stands on its own with its own merits & things to say. I say as a Little women Stan. This book was complex & deals with sisterhood, infidelity, complex family trauma, serious mental health issues & intergenerational trauma. I loved every character, i loved how flawed they were allowed to be & how Ann allowed them to grow as we often do in life. The sisterly bond spoke me on a personal level even if I disagreed with the way they behaved I understood the characters. It’s a gorgeous story, a sweeping novel that you don’t want to put down & it stays with you. It reminds you that even though you may grow as a person your mistakes have consequences & hurt those you love most.
