A Painted House was a book I thought I would never finish. But when I started reading it, there were things I didn't know that sounded really interesting. I never knew what I would be like to live in the country and hearing it from a 7 year old just made me wonder. How bad could it have been to live in the country?! Overall I thought it was a wonderful book.

I thoroughly enjoyed the book! Very well written, suberb character development, interesting story.

This is the first book by John Grisham that I have read before. I really enjoyed it. It has enspired me to read his others!

It started out really slow and dragged on throughout the first several chapters. I was surprised because most of Grisham's books are really good and you get into them the first chapter.

This was a good book ...but leaves you desiring alot more...its has suspence at a level that is not up to par with some of his other novels....I was curious as to what happens next but not to the point where i was at the edge of my seat....If you like Grisham its stilla good read...

Although I enjoyed the book, when I read the last chapter, I though "is that it?". I found it underwhelming. There was no great turn of events, no twists, no resolutions and just dragged on and on about cotton and farming. I found it a nice fluffy read, not what I'm used to from this author.

This book kept my attention and I couldn't put it down. I also got attached to the characters. However, in my opinion, the ending was abrupt and left you hanging. Now for those that don't mind deciding what happens after the book ends for themselves then this is the book for you, but I was thinking, "That's it?" and wasn't completely satisfied.

I really liked the story and all the secrets that were floating around and at times the book got really intense, but I have to agree with the others when I say that the ending really disappointed me.
